The former has only roadside parking near The Mermaid Inn. This is a residential area and you should not drive down Church Ope Road past the Museum.

Around Southwell a few tracks leading off the main road offer limited parking places - please do not obstruct them.

WARNING: Cavers and Climbers on Portland, particularly at Westland, have had their ropes cut by vandals. If you cannot leave a sentry use a rigging technique that will not fail irretrievably under tampering.
