Access

The mine is gated and fitted with the standard CSCC lock. Keys are held by CSCC member clubs. Keys are usually available for loan from one of the Mendip clubs with huts. These are BEC, CSS, MCG, MNRC, SMCC, and WCC. It is advisable to make arrangements in advance.

The entrance is surrounded by a fence with a gate fitted with the standard CSCC lock. Please use the gate and do not climb over the fence

In case of difficulty contact the CSCC Conservation and Access Officer.

Please report missing or damaged locks.

The mine is currently being dug by MCG. It is fitted with a number of fixed aids and these should only be used with caution. The MCG have installed a temporary platform about halfway down the laddered shaft. If visitors want to pass that, they are asked to replace it after doing so.

As with all mine and dig exploration, there are a number of potentially unsafe areas and appropriate care should be taken through out.
