Access

Considerable work has recently been done on the entrance by CSCC (2021/22) with a grill and new gate fitted to comply with landowner insurance requirements.

The cave is locked and the key is available from Manor Farm. Call at the back door located to the rear of the main house (ST 4979 5568). The cave gate is a standard CSCC design that requires a key to open from outside but can be opened from inside without a key. After opening, lock the gate and return the key to the farm. A goodwill fee of £2 per person is payable. All parties should be out of the cave by 9:30 p.m.

Please park neatly on the roadside with care not to block gates or drives. Approach the cave via the public footpath from the roadside.

WARNING. The cave suffers badly from CO2 problems. Care should be taken and at any noticeable sign of anyone suffering from the effects of CO2, it may be wise to abandon the visit. Remember that people have varying tolerance to the gas and whilst one person may not notice raised levels, another can be severely affected.
